One outcome of these events has been an agreement to continue to hold such large scale forums that attract such a range of participants on numerous issues including the environment. So watch this space as the plans unfold.

Details of the Convention of the Left recall event agreed in the Statement of Intent will be posted very shortly on the following website: http://www.conventionoftheleft.org/.
In the meantime please put 29th November in your diaries.

Amongst the many meetings held as fringe events, there was also a smattering of creative action. As pictured, on the 23rd Sept, over 100 people met for just 15 minutes outside the Town Hall to revealed red t-shirts with the message 'Stop Airport Expansion'. The participants then lay on the floor to spell out the words 'Take The Train' with their bodies. Known as a 'flash mob', this eye-catching event marked the launch of a new local campaign group called SEMA (Stop Expansion of Manchester Airport). As noted on the en4m calendar, this group is holding a meeting on Oct 16th.
